A quick review of the Open Events during 2006:

The Pavilion Punchbowl was won by Mr and Mrs Jaquest from Haywards Heath GC, The Hills Goblets were won by Mr J.Armfield and Mr B.Jones from Lingfield Park Golf GC, The Founder’s Trophy unfortunately was rescheduled and then rained off! The Seniors’ Open Club Championship was won by Shirley Park GC, The Singing Hills Salver was won by Mrs S.Holman and Mrs C. Exall from Haywards Heath GC and Mid Sussex GC, The Albourne Antiques was rained off and then rescheduled and was won by Mr and Mrs Elliott from East Sussex National Finally the Festive Spirit was cancelled due to the appalling wet weather. Lets hope that the weather is more favourable for 2007!

A change that we have decided to make this year, is to have a shotgun start at 9am for the following Opens:

Pavilion Punchbowl – Wednesday 18th April

Singing Hills Salver – Thursday 9th August

Albourne Antiques – Monday 1st October

The entries for these opens will be limited to 72 players.

Other changes that have been instigated to ensure the continued smooth running of the Opens are:

The Seniors’ Team Open – Wednesday 13th June 2007

Due to the popularity of this event we are limiting the entries to one per club.

The Festive Spirit – Monday 3rd December 2007

This year’s entries will be selected from those who have entered either the Pavilion Punchbowl or Albourne Antiques or both. If you have not entered these Opens you will not be able to enter the Festive Spirit as this is an invitation only event.

Due to the success of all our Opens, please ensure that your entry forms are returned as soon as possible.
